LIMINAL is a specifically curated collection of photographic works by Jean Bettingen in dialogue with the jewelry by Yasser Dallal, designer, and founder of Astartelux. Yasser Dallal’s collection of timeless jewelry pieces in gold and silver trace a story of the Eastern Mediterranean cultural richness, transcending from ancient times until today.
Jean Bettingen created a dedicated limited edition of 10 black/white images, produced on silver and gold brushed aluminum. All photographs were taken with various antique cameras, such as a Brownie, an Argus 75 or even a 4 x 5’’ pinhole camera.
WATERSCAPES is a series of 3 cameraless pictures that have been created by adding African salt to water taken from 3 main border-rivers in Luxembourg (Our, Sûre & Moselle) to deteriorate unexposed medium-format film.
The resulting abstract works, created solely by the interaction of Luxembourgish water with African salt, are exclusively available as a limited edition of 5 mounted and framed digital chromogenic prints (120 x 40 cm).
All artworks are printed, mounted and framed in gallery quality standards with the utmost care for detail.
Each artwork is signed, dated and editioned, as well as accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
